What’s the difference between IMI accreditation and qualification?

An IMI qualification is a formal education outcome, awarded upon the successful completion of a structured training programme and assessments. Unlike an accreditation, a qualification does not expire, making it a permanent recognition of your skills and knowledge.
An IMI accreditation is a professional validation of your current skill level, assessed against industry standards. It’s ideal for experienced technicians seeking formal recognition without undertaking a full training course.

Accreditations are typically valid for three years, after which reaccreditation is required to maintain your certified status.

What kind of technical training do you offer?

RMT provides IMI-approved training in Air Conditioning and ADAS Calibration, with expanding coverage in areas such as EV maintenance, diagnostics, oscilloscope diagnostics, wheel alignment, and MOT preparation.

Training is delivered by industry expert Jason Smith, a Master Technician with over 30 years of experience.

Who delivers the training at RMT?

Our lead trainer, Jason Smith, brings 35 years of hands-on experience across the automotive sector. As a current MOT Tester, Master Technician, IMI Advanced Automotive Engineer, and seasoned educator, Jason combines technical expertise with a passion for developing the next generation of skilled professionals.
